DIY Party Bartender Service

Sometimes planning for a party represents a daunting affair. But with a little practice and some handy tools like our Alcohol Calculator, you will soon master the skill. Trinity Event Staffing knows that some clients prefer a more hands on approach to their parties. Additionally, we know that you can achieve the same experience as hiring a full bartending service, but for less money. Supplying your own alcohol, mixers, beverages, bar and bartenders becomes easy with our handy alcohol, bar equipment and bartender calculators. Check them all out under the TOOLS section.

How much alcohol do I need for my party?

Determining the amount of alcohol and mixers needed depends on the guest count and the type of party you are hosting. A general guideline is to plan for one drink per guest per hour. For a party of 20 people running for 4 hours, this would mean 80 drinks in total. The bartender service should be able to keep these in rotation from a back table or a back stock area. Ensure you have a variety of alcohol options and enough mixers to cater to different preferences. It’s always better to have a little extra than to run out during the event.

Using the Alcohol Calculator

To use the beverage and alcohol calculator, enter the number of guests. Based on this number, the calculator will consider the percentages likely to consume beer, wine and mixed drinks. Be sure to think of any additional specialty drinks being served as this will affect consumption of other beverages during the first hour. The bartender service should be ready for specialty drinks in the first hour. After that, most people switch to their favorite drink of choice.

Popular alcohol drink choices in Texas?

In Texas, whiskey and tequila-based drinks remain extremely popular. Consider serving margaritas, tequila sunrises, or a classic whiskey sour. Straightforward to make, they ensure your bartender service can keep up with the guest flow. Also popular in Texas is Boch beer, including iconic Shiner Boch. Lastly, the Texas pallet for wine tends toward the sweet side, as do the wines grown locally.

What are some popular easy-to-make drinks?

Many party hosts want to have a specialty cocktail or two for their party. Specialty drink usually get premixed and then topped with fruit or anything bubbly. An example would be a Mojito which has rum, mint, lime, sugar, and soda. The popular Moscow Mule has vodka, ginger beer, and lime. Mixing items early and keeping specialty drinks limited helps ensure shorter lines at the bar. Your bartender service will also agree and appreciate it.

What are the most common alcohol and mixers?

When choosing your liquors, beers, wines and mixers, some basic knowledge goes a long way. The most-requested mixed drinks use vodka and bourbon (reflected in our alcohol calculator results). To a lesser degree, tequila, gin scotch and other whiskeys often represent the balance. Mixers for commons drinks include club soda, tonic, Coke, Diet Coke and Sprite. Beyond that having orange juice and cranberry juice will allow the bartender service to make the most common drinks.

How much ice do I need for my party?

Don’t forget about the ice! A good rule of thumb is to have about 1 to 1.5 pounds of ice per person. This should cover drinks, as well as any ice needed for coolers to keep beers and sodas chilled. Try to keep all beer and wine to be chilled cold beforehand. This will keep the warm beverages from melting their cooler ice too quickly. Together with the calculators and a little bit of courage, you will be hosting regular events in no time.

Other useful event staff to hire for your event

In addition to bartenders, consider also hiring wait staff to serve and clean up. Also consider that Trinity can provide kitchen help, coat check, parking lot security and other guest services for your party or event. But for larger events, including public ones such as music festivals and wine strolls, Trinity can provide teams of both registration as well as event security staff
